September is Family Portrait Month at Nicole Gee Photography!  This year we are partnering with PPA Charities {Professional Photographers of America} with proceeds benefiting Dando Amor, a non-profit charity organization, founded by photographers, dedicated to blessing the lives of orphans throughout the world.

During Family Portrait month, PPA members around the nation are pledging a portion or all of their session fees, as well as percentages of products sales or offering special products, to give back to these needy children.

What we love to do, at our studio, is create special memories for people.  Family portraits are one of the most special sessions we do, as it marks a moment in time of family togetherness, and creates a new family heirloom.  Many children around the world, not only don’t have access to a family portrait photographer, but don’t even have a family to share that moment with.  Basic necessities in life are more important, and sometimes hard to come by.  I feel so lucky to be able to live with all I need at my fingertips, and want to be able to help those that don’t.  Will you help too?

We have decide to reduce our Family Portrait Session Fee for the month of September to only $125, and 100% of that will be donated to PPA Charities, a registered 501(c)3 organization.  So not only do you save on your session fee, but you are helping to feed and clothe not just one child, but many children across the world.

Here are some statistics below so you can really see what the money we, as a community, can raise together and what it can do.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO HELP?

• Food for a month for the Dando Amor Home – $600
• Food for a week for the Dando Amor Home – $150
• 5 chickens with feed – $25
• School uniforms and fees – $125
• A mango tree –  $15
• Sponsor a child for a month in Haiti – $65
• A donkey and a cart (helps to support a family) – $250
• 1 bag of rice -$45
• 1 bag of corn meal and a gallon of cooking oil – $35

So, you can see that just your session fee alone will help feed a home for a month!  How amazing is that!

In 2013 Dando Amor opened its own orphanage in Quito, Ecuador. The charity also provides volunteers who raise funds for it to experience “a different kind of vacation,” so they can be personally involved in helping orphans live better and fuller lives. Volunteers have taken part in hands-on activities ranging from repairing facilities, building classrooms, and replacing sewer systems, to purchasing vital furnishings and fixtures such as cribs, beds, mattresses, as well as everyday necessities that American children take for granted.

The Details:

• Book your Family Portrait Session between now and September 30th, and receive the reduced session fee of only $125, 100% of which goes to the charity.  {Session can take place in October}

• All you have to do to help these orphans is contact us:  nicole@nicolegeephotography.com and book a session (any type! family, child/children, baby, newborn, engagement, senior/grad, etc.)
